Some federal datasets have recently disappeared in light of recent government mandates. It is unclear how much data may disappear in the coming months, but if you are looking for a dataset removed, visit the following data rescue mission page to find data of your interest archived elsewhere.
This guide is meant to help students and faculty of Belmont University start in the process of looking for data. Data looks differently in every field, so this guide makes some caveats to how those standards differ by discipline. If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Yoakum at ryan.yoakum@belmont.edu, and he can help you out on a specific project.
These websites are designed to be places to collected easily readable data. A lot of these websites also allow you to go deeper into specific subjects, so they are often a great place to start!
Data Repositories are often places you can find scientific or social sciences data. Federally funded data typically requires specific parameters for researchers to follow when storing data, so many of these repositories are designed to meet those requirements. Certain universities also have their own repositories, depending on the size and scope of research at that institution.
