The Association of American Publishers (AAP) is the largest U.S. trade association for the consumer, educational, professional and scholarly publishing industries. AAP is dedicated to representing American publishing priorities worldwide and advancing the role of publishers in contemporary society, focusing on advocacy, digital standards and statistical analysis.

Formally established in 1937, AAUP promotes the work and influence of university presses, provides cooperative marketing opportunities, and helps its 130+ member presses fulfill their common commitments to scholarship, the academy, and society.

Founded in 1900, the American Booksellers Association is a national not-for-profit trade organization that works to help independently owned bookstores grow and succeed.

Established in 1919, MPA is the primary advocate and voice for the magazine media industry, driving thought leadership and game-changing strategies to promote the medium’s vitality, increase revenues and grow market share.

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), founded in 1978, is a nonprofit organization formed to promote and advance communication among all sectors of the scholarly publication community through networking, information dissemination, and facilitation of new developments in the field.

IBPA’s mission is to lead and serve the independent publishing community by providing advocacy, education and tools for success.

Founded in 1896, the IPA promotes and defends freedom to publish, defends copyright, and promotes literacy and reading. IPA also deals with a number of other issues affecting publishers, from book fairs to standard developments. IPA is an accredited non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The mission of the association is to represent the interests of Open Access journal and book publishers globally in all scientific, technical and scholarly disciplines. The mission is carried out through exchanging information, setting standards, advancing models, advocacy, education, and the promotion of innovation.

NNPA is a trade association of the more than 200 African American-owned community newspapers from around the United States. As the largest and most influential Black-owned media resource in America, NNPA delivers news, information, and commentary from the Black perspective to over 20 million people each week.

The ECPA is an international non-profit trade organization comprised of member companies that are involved in the publishing and distribution of Christian content worldwide. The association provides programs and services that advocate on behalf of its members, provide networking opportunities, deliver cutting-edge education, data and information, and raise awareness of their products in the marketplace.

Formed in 1987, the Audio Publishers Association (APA) is a not-for-profit trade association that advocates the common, collective business interests of audio publishers. The APA consists of audio publishing companies and allied suppliers, distributors, and retailers of spoken word products and allied fields related to the production, distribution and sale of audiobooks.
