Circulation and Hold Policies

The checkout period for faculty and graduate students is one semester, with the option to renew twice. That means that if you check out a book in November, it will be due back at the end of the fall semester. You may renew online by logging into your library account with your MyBelmont username and password.

The library will staff will pull books so that you can pick them up at the Circulation Desk. Click on the title of any of the books to view the catalog record. Be sure to Sign In using your MyBelmont username and password, and then you'll see a link to Request the book. It should be available within a few hours.

DVDs are on reserve at the Circulation Desk in the library. They can be checked out for 1 week.

Finding Jenn's Voice A powerful documentary film that explores the nature of abusive relationships. Survivors of homicide attempts by their intimate partners help paint a picture of domestic violence that looks beyond the black eye. The life of Jennifer Lindsay Snyder, a victim of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) which lead to her eventual death, is profiled.

Learning through observation : five video vignettes to spark reflection and discussion A training video that provides supervisors, trainers, and directors with non-narrated footage of real-life interactions between staff of infant-family programs and families in situations such as an occupational therapist's home visit with a child with special needs, morning drop-off at a child care center, professional supervision, home visit with a Spanish-speaking family (in Spanish), and an Early Head Start home visit. Discussions follow each vignette and discussion questions are presented for further exploration and reflection.

Paper Tigers This film follows 6 students from Lincoln Alternative High School in Walla Walla, Washington. The principal and teachers embraced a non-punitive, trauma-informed model of teaching and discipline in order to counteract the chaos and violence present in the school. Using the ACE's model in the classroom helped the students understand their negative emotions and create an atmosphere for success.
