**After installation, be sure to carefully go through the Create/Organize Library tab in order to set up the software to work properly!**

Clarivate (the team behind EndNote) has created a research guide of their own about using their product. This guide also has tutorials and other resources for navigating the tool from the EndNote Team!

What's new in EndNote 21?

What’s new in EndNote 21?

  • Data Restoration: If the unthinkable happens, EndNote 21 has got your back. You can restore your EndNote library with a new data restoration function, ensuring your research is not lost. Single reference restoration allows you to compare and restore previous versions of individual references.
  • Stay Organized with Tags: Add tags to references and customize the color and name of the tags. Tags will be visible to anyone you share your library with.
  • Cite While You Write (CWYW) for Google Docs: CWYW is now available for Google Docs™ via Google Workspace Marketplace, making it easier to write your next paper and to collaborate on documents with colleagues.
  • A New EndNote Web Interface: Access your research anytime, anywhere from the cloud - sync seamlessly between your desktop, online, and the iPad app.

Best Practices

EndNote is best used as a software with the Microsoft Word App/Desktop Version. To use EndNote most effectively, we recommend:

  • Begin a document in Word online in OneDrive â€‹

  • Close the online document and open it in the Word App/Desktop version on your desktop

  • Use the Word App/Desktop version to utilize EndNote's Cite While You Write feature
