Total Classes by Year

The number of class decreased slightly during 2020-21, likely due to the ongoing pandemic, with the majority of courses being offered online or in hyflex mode, and with faculty having to contend with so many uncertainties. Still, we provided instruction for 234 classes and for 4,553 students.

Instruction by College

The top three disciplines that included information literacy instruction continue to be those that are research-intensive and that have a subject specialist dedicated to instruction. They include:  

  • College of Health Sciences & Nursing
  • College of Business/College of Entertainment & Music Business
  • College of Music & Performing Arts

This dashboard presents a visualization of library services, specifically, the work of faculty librarians to support the research and information needs of students. The dashboard is meant to provide a quick glance of reference and instruction services and outcomes including where students are receiving instruction, which students are receiving instruction, and how these efforts support university learning outcomes. 

 

How we use this data

This data will inform our services going forward and be used in decision making including:

  • Strategic planning 
  • Operations planning (service hours, staffing)
  • Instructional Support (curriculum planning and instructional design for information literacy)
  • Assessment (designing outcomes, record keeping and reporting, closing the loop)
