Using Bunch Library - Fall 2020

Bunch Library resources and services have shifted as a result of COVID-19. This guide will help you understand our current policies and procedures.

Current Availability of Library Services

Access to Bunch Library Limited Access Bunch Library will open only to Belmont University faculty, staff & currently enrolled students during Fall 2020.  You will need your Belmont ID to access Bunch Library the duration of the Fall 2020 semester.  

Check-out of physical items (books, scores, DVDs, etc.)

There are multiple ways to request & check out items:

  • call 615-460-6782 to speak with someone at Bunch Library
  • Chat by clicking on the blue Ask Us pop-out (top right corner) on the library site
  • Request items via OneSearch and checkout using Self Checkout Station located near the Study Rooms on the 1st floor
Research Appointments Yes All research appointments are online via Zoom.  You can make an appointment with a research librarian HERE
Research Help Yes

Chat with library faculty and staff by clicking on the Ask Us! pop-out in the top right hand corner of most of the library webpages.  Chat is available:

  • Monday - Thursday: 10am - 8pm
  • Friday: 10am - 4pm,
  • Saturday: 10am - 5pm
  • Sunday: 1pm - 5pm
Headphones Temporarily Unavailable Headphones are not available for checkout during the Fall 2020 semester.
Holds on Physical Items Yes Request items using OneSearch to be pulled from the shelves and placed on the self-serve Pick Up Shelf located near the Study Rooms on the 1st floor for Low/No Contact Service.  
Interlibrary Loans (ILL/ILLiad) Yes

We are processing ILL/ILLiad requests.  However, not all of our lending partners are up and operational.  We are also experiencing delays with the USPS.  Each request submitted is being evaluated to determine the best course of action to fulfillment.

Overnight Study Temporarily Unavailable Overnight hours will begin on Monday, September 21st.
Periodicals Ask for Assistance @Info Desk Our collection of periodicals have temporarily been removed from their shelves.  Titles are available upon request from the Information Desk on the 1st floor.  You can also browse for current issues for many of them online using the Print Periodicals guide.  Used periodicals will be placed in quarantine for 3 days before they will be made available 
Practice Presentation Room Yes Space is limited to 2 users who must actively be using the recording equipment housed in the Practice Presentation Room.  Please no food or drink in this space.  Make reservations to use the PPR here and stop by the Information Desk to check out the key.  
Printing Yes Bunch Library has 4 BruinPrint stations, all located on the 1st floor.
Request physical items/Holds Yes Request items using OneSearch to be pulled from the shelves and placed on the self-serve Pick Up Shelf located near the Study Rooms on the 1st floor for Low/No Contact Service.  
Returning Books, Scores, DVDs, CDs, etc. Yes Returns can be left in the Book Return across the street from the front entrance of Bunch Library.  Items may also be left in the library foyer on the cart labelled Returns.  All returned items will be quarantined for 3 days before being checked in, shelved, and available for check-out.
Silent/Quiet Study Area Yes The 2nd floor book stacks are designated for quiet/silent study.  Please refrain from conversation and be mindful of the volume when using headphones/earbuds.
Spaces to Attend Online Classes Yes Study carrels lining the 3rd floor hallway are available to students who need a place to attend online classes.  Please bring your own headphones/earbuds.
Study Rooms Yes Two study rooms located off the 1st floor hallway will be available on a first come, first served basis.  Seating is limited to 3 users maximum in each room for social distancing purposes.  Masks must be worn when using the study rooms.  
Virtual Study Rooms Yes Try GoConqr or slack for group work in a virtual setting.
