Technical support guide for the use of eBooks and eBook reader software.

Download eBooks

You will need to create an account (it's free!) to take advantage of the persistent bookshelf features.

To create an account:

Go to Belmont's eBook Central home

Tap Sign In

Tap Join eBook Central and fill out the short form.

Search or browse for eBooks.

Tap on the title of an eBook to go to its record.

Tap Read Online to read in eBook Central's native reader.

In the record, tap Add to Bookshelf to save it to your bookshelf for later.

 

You will need Bluefire Reader to read eBook Central books offline.  It's a free download from the App Store.

Follow the steps in the above link to set up and log in.  If you try to download an eBook when you're not already logged into Bluefire, it may not sync up correctly and you'll have to re-download the book once you've logged in.

You will also need to create an eBook Central account (it's free!) to download eBooks.

To create an account:

Go to Belmont's eBook Central home

Click Sign In

Tap Join eBook Central and fill out the short form.

Search or browse for eBooks.

To download for mobile device reading:

Tap on the title of the eBook you want to go to its record

Tap Full Download (if this option is not available, the book cannot be read outside of the eBook Central website)

You'll be asked which device you're using. Select iOS or Android.

You've already downloaded the Bluefire Reader, so click "Done with this step."

Tap download this eBook

Your device may ask permission to open Bluefire; allow this

Your eBook will download to Bluefire reader for offline reading!

 

 

You will need Adobe Digital Editions and an Adobe ID to read eBook Central eBooks on your PC.

You will also need to create an eBook Central account (it's free!) to download eBooks.

To create an account:

Go to Belmont's eBook Central home

Click Sign In

Tap Join eBook Central and fill out the short form.

Search or browse for eBooks.

Click on the title of an eBook to go to its record

Click Full Download

Select that you are using a Desktop/laptop

Since you have setup Digital Editions, click that you are done with this step

Click Download your eBook, and choose to open it in Digital Editions.
