Q: Who can request an interlibrary loan?
A: Any currently enrolled Belmont student or current Belmont employee. Alumni will need to use their local public library Interlibrary Loan department.
Q: What can I request?
A: Books, articles, dvds, sound recordings, music scores, theses/dissertations
Q: What kinds of items CAN'T be borrowed via ILL?
A: Textbooks, ebooks, newly published books (ex. c2022 - libraries hold on to these for their own users), entire issues of journals, genealogical materials, books +100 years old (check archive.org), LPs
Q: How long does ILL take?
A: That depends on who's lending it to us and what the item is. Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of books and 1 week for articles.
Q: Where do I pick up and return my items?
A: Pick up your items at the Information Desk on the 1st floor of Bunch Library. You can also return your items to the Information Desk, the outside book return (across the street from the entrance to Bunch), or the Book Return in the library foyer.
Q: Will articles be emailed to me?
A: That depends on how we obtained the article. Some will be sent directly to your email inbox (check your Junk or Clutter folder) and others will be dropped into your Illiad account.
Q: How long can I keep an item (book, music score, DVD, etc.)?
A: That depends on who's lending it to us and what the item is. The due date will be on the sticker placed on your item. If you need an item for longer than 30 days, please consider an alternative to ILL as we can rarely keep an item longer than one month.
Q: Can I renew ILL items?
A: Some ILL items can be renewed before they are due. To renew an item, log in to your account and renew the item.
Archive.org is a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. It includes books, videos, websites, audio recording, software and images. Great for public domain books, old periodicals, news broadcasts, live concert recordings, etc.
